Sanyu Prints 常玉复制版画 Sanyu Limited Edition Prints
Sanyu 常玉 was born in Nanchong, Sichuan Province, on 14 October 1901 and passed away in his Paris apartment in 1966 due to gas poisoning. A Chinese-French artist who was known to some as the "Oriental Matisse" as he blends Chinese traditional calligraphic strokes to French style artistic expression.
As there are very few of his works available but fortunately, we have the second best option, these rare prints which were produced by the National Museum of History in Taipei in limited edition of 199 sets of his collection which was supposed to be exhibited in Taipei in 1963. No effort was spared to make these supreme high quality prints which were authenticated and stamped with the museum's seal and numbered from 1 to 199 of the 199 edition.
