TACCIA Tanto Shirasaya Limited Edition
Tanto is a traditional Japanese short sword used by ancient Samurai as a self defence weapon in close combat. As the Japanese swords evolved, the Tanto grew to become a charm for protection against evil and misfortune.
In ancient Japanese Samurai culture, the tanto blade was often housed in both a ceremonial and a protectant shield. The Shirasaya 白鞘 wooden scabbard was made of Magnolia wood with the actual housing used to store and treat the metal of the blade. The purpose is to protect it from moistures and corrosion due to the lacquer and chemicals in its decorative mountings.
Each barrel cap is embellished with a mekugi mark – similar to actual katana sword pin designs.
Each Taccia Tanto Shirasaya Limited Edition pen features an ultra unique metal neck sleeve that can be easily attached onto the barrel grip section to provide extra comfort and flexibility of use.
Only 25 pieces were made worldwide and each Taccia Tanto Shirasaya Limited Edition fountain pen is fitted with a 14kt solid gold Japanese nib and completes with a decorative pen holder.
